FUN CREATIVE IDEAS TO KEEP US LEARNING |
My children grew up with inquisitive minds and spent a great deal of time discovering things for themselves, getting their hands dirty, exploring their environment, reading and watching educational TV. Here are a few more ideas that work and can be done at home or in the garden. One of their favourite presenters on TV was Bill Nye the Science Guy, check on YouTube.

LEARN A NEW SKILL or LANGUAGE
UKULELE / GUITAR ...Learning an instrument is a great way to spend you time, it also shows patience, endurance and commitment, all great skills required in normal working life. I would like to set up Videocall or Skype Lessons for those interested, they will be FREE. Please email me if you would like to try it out; I will need your name and what level you are, eg beginner, novice or advanced. Also looking at setting up playing groups similar to the Sofa Singers; song writing groups; trash band household fun sessions. Making fun music together. webbrhp@btinternet.com
KEEPING FIT & ACTIVE
SKIPPING CHALLENGE - can you skip for 3 minutes singing 'Twinkle, twinkle Little Star'?
STAIR RUN - count the number of steps up your stairs, time yourself walking up, walking down on step at a time. Then two steps at a time. Now see how fast you can do it safely. Divide the time by the number of steps to find an average step time.
My example - my stairs has 13 steps; walking up 9.5 seconds - average step 0.73. Pulse Rate 82. Think safety, don't do it too fast coming down. If you want to try stretches maybe go upstairs 3 steps at a time.
GARDEN LAPS - if you have a garden walk around the perimeter and time yourself; then jog around, then sprint. For endurance start with 5 times then build it up by adding 5 more when you feel ready.
