DAY 7 - SOCIAL DISTANCING & ME
Yesterday morning bright and early I dressed, put on my walking shoes, rucksack and warm fleece and set out on a voyage of discovery to Aldi. The sun popped it's head occasionally through the clouds and I put my best foot forward and marched confidently towards the Store, not wanting too much more but just wanting to explore my wider world. See what lay at the bottom of the Hill. Passing the Garage on the way; social distancing myself from others, much easier with my brothers as they live hundreds of miles to the West; the land of the setting sun. Passing under the Railway Bridge, Sweetie Factory finally to stand at the top of the Hill looking down on the occasional passing car, pedestrian avoiding any kind of contact. At last I passed the Shell Garage to be met by the sight of the ultimate social distancing; shoppers spaced more than two metres apart waiting patiently to be allowed to shop with a few others. Orderly, quietly waiting, shuffling forward, not too close and then finally being allowed into the promised land full of milk and honey and more importantly Toilet Rolls. I shopped, I paid, I packed my rucksack, clutched my sixteen pack of cushioned comfi-ness and proceeded home avoiding the longing looks of the social distancing others. No-one was getting their hands on my sixteen; I shall never forget the Aldi scene. Stay safe.
